First Android Post

I am coming to you (all one of you) live from the WordPress app on my Droid Incredible.  I figured a test run was due for the software.  :)   Today is a WONDERFUL day for many reasons.  I received positive reviews at work as well as challenges ahead I am quite excited about.  I also received my new Roxy Classic snowboard bindings via UPS!  I am quite excited to put my board together tomorrow.  The downside is it looks like the wintery weather is pretty much done.  Major bummer!  With that, I will leave you with some pics of the sweet bindings!

The flash on my Droid is INSANELY bright, but you get the idea.

EDIT!  I thought the flash messed up the pics so here is what they look like.  Image courtesy of Roxy.com

SOooooo pretty!

Week 1 Half Training Recap (and other things)

I’ve completed my first week of half marathon training and I think it went rather well.  The only day I didn’t complete my full mileage was Saturday, and that was due to my running buddy’s leg having issues and I wasn’t going to leave her alone to walk to my car.  Walking to my car was a little scary and I think I may need to find a new parking location on Kelly Drive.  A Lexus SUV was broken and since it was the ONLY car with  smashed window we guessed someone was trying to steal it.  My Hyundai was unharmed (who would steal it?) thankfully!

Today I did 2.7 miles (2.9 including cool-down) and it was fantastic.  I did it on the treadmill (BOO) because I forgot my iPod.  When I run on KD I like to go sans iPod since the scenery is nice.  Today, I was heading to a track and running in circles is just as boring as a treadmill.  But, the gym had music and TVs, so I went with that.

Following running, we made our way to Victory for their 9th Annual Chili Cook-off.  It was fantastic.  I had the pleasure of sampling 18 different chilis (some were kind of ick, but most were yummy) and having three different brews:  Hop Wallop, Dark Lager, and Storm King Stout.  The Hop Wallop was my favorite as expected (hooray for hops!).  S drove as I was DD last night (thx babe).  I met some friends from my DZ days and it was a fantastic time.  I definitely need to visit the place more often!

Tomorrow is Bonus Day at work.  Crossing my fingers it’s a good one.  I’m going to need the free coffee as it is WAY past my bedtime (Krissie = old/lame).  With that I shall close this post.

TGIF!

According to my half marathon training schedule, I had to run 2.5 miles yesterday at a race pace.  I am aiming for a 10 min mile to keep things simple since I tend to run faster on race days.  I had forgotten my Nike+ sportband, so the run had to go untracked.  Total bummer!  But, I made the most of my time at the gym.  I warmed up for 5 min on the bike, then did a planned weight lifting routine focusing on 5 arm moves.  I followed that with 5 abs moves then did my run.  It felt great!  I had today off, but decided to do a 20 min yoga routine from On Demand, and then a 10 min Pilates routine.  I just couldn’t justify NOT doing anything today.  Plus, I got really snacky this afternoon.

After the workout, I made my way to DSW.  LOVE that store and it is pure evil that my gym is located RIGHT above one.  Anyway, there was a pair of Nike shoes I wanted to get for my everyday casual work shoes that I’d spotted earlier this week.

Sheila clearly is thrilled about my new shoes.

There’s nothing like a new pair of shoes to add a little pep in your step!  Tomorrow is long run day, so I made plans to run on Kelly Drive with my friend Carla.  She’s a great running buddy.  It just dawned on me I should post my running schedule on here.  So, with that (and a kitty on my lap obstructing my ability to type) I will leave you (all one of you).  Have a great weekend!
