Happy IPA Day

Yoga was much more low key tonight than in previous nights.  I didn’t sweat nearly as much as I usually do, but it still felt great.  We did a lot of balancing poses and I quite enjoy the dancer pose.

I would like to thank you all for helping to cheer me back up from earlier.  It did feel good to get that off my chest and now I’ve definitely realized it’s certainly something to celebrate.  I guess it was perfect timing as today was International IPA Day!  IPAs are my favorite type of beer and we had a good one to break out.

A bottle of the elusive Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA.  Here’s the info from the brewer:

Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45-degree plato, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month & aged for another month on whole-leaf hops!!!

Our 120 Minute I.P.A. is by far the biggest I.P.A. ever brewed! Between 15-20% abv and 120 ibus you can see why we call this beer THE HOLY GRAIL for hopheads!

We brew 120 Minute IPA a few times a year, but it goes fast. If you find some grab a few bottles, some to enjoy and some to age.

I had forgotten how much of a kick this beer has.  It’s potent!  I split the bottle with Scott and still ended up with a slight buzz after finishing.  We enjoyed this beer with nothing fancy, just beer’s BFF pizza.

It was a delicious celebration for IPA day and my recent award (yes, it was an award).  :D

Speaking of beer, if you’re a local lady and you love beer as much as I do, especially those from Victory, then you should buy a ticket to this ladies only beer pairing dinner!  I’m picking up my ticket tomorrow and am very excited to attend!

Did you celebrate IPA Day?

PS – Don’t forget to enter my giveaway!  Winner announced at 12pm EST tomorrow!

  1. I’m sorry you were having a rough time earlier! But with the beer and pizza, sounds like it all turned out pretty well. Amazing how that will do it! :-) Happy IPA day to you!

    • Thanks! It’s definitely not for everyone. I’m thinking of getting in touch with Girls Pint Out to start a Philly area chapter to help educate the ladies on the world of beer. Not sure what kind of time commitment that would be, though!
