Starting Fresh

Let’s take a break from exercise and talk about something that has been giving me a little bit of hope in all of the life chaos.  Decorating!  When I left my solo apartment almost two years ago, I had a ton of hand-me-down furniture, including a couch that was broken in the middle (it made it stupidly comfy to sleep on though).  When I moved into the townhouse with Scott, he had a whole mess of furniture from his condo in Illinois, so we tossed all my crap.  What this means is that I now have to invest in all new furniture since all I pretty much have is a tiny dresser, a couple clothing racks, two book shelves, and a shitty computer desk (soon to be parted with).  The upside of blowing all this money on new stuff is I finally get to decorate my new apartment my way, and that’s pretty exciting.  Here are pics of what the new place looks like (with the current tenant’s stuff, sorry).

Hard to see the bathroom, but you get the idea.  I got the go ahead to paint whatever I wanted which is pretty exciting.  I’m definitely getting rid of the minty green in the living room area and possibly going with a light gray.  I’m going with black/gray/white and pops of really saturated colors.

Here are some of the furniture items I’ve ordered so far.

And my bedding I am most excited about!  It arrived earlier this week and is as lovely and soft and wonderful as it looks.

While new beginnings can be a little scary, I’m sort of hopeful a fresh start is what I really need.  Let’s hope!

How would you decorate your dream place?
