New Flat

Things have been kind of hectic in the last week or so.  I finally got the keys to my new place on Friday and have commenced moving in.  I am swamped at work today due to too many meetings, but I figured I’d share some pics for those of you that can’t see them on Facebook.  Enjoy!

Dishes and stuff!  I got the plates from CB2, bowls are Cali Bowls, placemats and napkins off of Amazon.  I haven’t purchase a kitchen table & chairs yet.

Shower curtain from Target, bamboo mat from Amazon.  I like the idea of that instead of a fabric, much easier to keep clean!

Towels from CB2.  They are so insanely soft, I love them!  I need to put up a better towel rack or get a standing one as you can see the current one is a bit wonky.

Bed frame from CB2!  I am glad I ordered it when I did, because it’s been discontinued.  I still have to finish nailing on the slats, but I haven’t ordered a mattress yet so no rush at the moment.  The rug is from a Hautelook sale.

The living room!  The sofa transitions flat for a sleeping spot.  I love how clean everything looks at the moment.  The coffee table looks cool, but I would never buy it again.  It’s the worst to put together and is so cheapy.  I might just throw away all my clutter so my apt stays looking this nice!  Couch from Wayfair, table via Amazon, chair from Hautelook sale, pillows from CB2.

My favorite piece in the apartment so far.  I love this chair.  It’s comfy and absolutely adorable.  It wasn’t insanely cheap, but was still a crazy good deal and worth every penny I spent.  Every time I look at it I smile.

So that’s the apartment so far!  I made a couple trips yesterday and hope to do another one or two today.  I’m at the point of all the random crap that takes forever to move.  I hate this part of moving.  :P

Have a good Tuesday, all!

I Have Good News

We’re almost through the week!  Has anyone else felt like this week has been particularly slow?  Holy crepes.  I’m just glad I don’t have much to do tomorrow other than look pretty and greet people (we have a fancy meeting or something).  After setting up the conference room for tomorrow’s meeting, I visited the doc to get the assessment on my left foot.  I got good news!  It’s likely just a bone bruise and nothing is fractured.  It can take up to nine weeks to heal, but I can keep running and playing sports.  Phew!  I’m to ice it for 20 minutes up to four times a day and take ibuprofen.  He gave me a script for an x-ray if anything doesn’t improve or it feels worse, but he was fairly certain it wouldn’t be necessary.  So, I’m following the doc’s order right now!

I’ll probably wait til Friday to do a run and give it one more day of rest.  I’m just soooo happy I’m not going to end up in a boot (especially with two weddings to attend this month, and the moving thing).

Monday’s Phillies game was not too fantastic with the loss, but I did get my Cliff Lee bobble head and got to sport my favorite hat and a new Phils tee.  :)

Man, I love that hat.  I almost ended up on the Jumbotron.  They were panning our row, got to our two friends then right before me they cut to another camera.  WTF!  I was the ONLY person in our row wearing a Phanatic hat.  It was a travesty, I say.

In other news, I had a couple of orders come in and was pretty excited.  I’ve been a huge fan of Om Records for ages and they were having a super sale on their tees.  I couldn’t resist picking up this one for $5.  The artwork just looks crazy cool.

And I finally got a pair of over-the-ear headphones that were originally meant for work, but I think I may just keep them at home.  They were off Hautelook for less than $12.  Such a steal.  And pink!  How can you not smile wearing these?

And that’s pretty much all that’s been happening this week.  Eight days until I start the big move!  Crazy times.  xoxo

Oh, It’s Monday?

Monday already?!  My brain is still recovering from the fly-by weekend that happened.  What was going to be only a semi-planned weekend ended up being far more busy than I planned.  There was beer, there was wine, there were old friends and new friends.  There was even singing of the Captain Planet theme song in the back of a limo on the way to dinner Saturday night.  All I know is I am looking forward to JUST having a bridal shower scheduled for next weekend.  Some of the photos are mine, others come courtesy of Stephen Lyford who is a huge beer fantatic and there are a TON of great pics of the kickoff of Philly Beer Week on his Picasa profile.  Here we go!

Amie’s friend Ethan photobombed us

Much better!

We only stayed at the Opening Tap for a little while.  The lines were mad crazy, especially for the bigger breweries.  Instead, we hopped a cab and made our way to Bierstube.  If you run into a bartender named Andrew, he will supply you with the best beers ever.  All I told him was to just surprise me with whatever he thought I’d love and he did very well!  I highly recommend this bar.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale

This was yummy.

So was this.

Saturday was one of my closest and dearest friend’s bachelorette party.  I wasn’t feeling overly fantastic after a night of craft beering it up, but I rallied and made my way to her sister’s house.  We had the nicest limo driver ever and ventured to Chaddford and Penns Woods Wineries.  I have to say Penns Woods was my favorite not only based on the wine, but also the views.

I wish I had bought a bottle of the white merlot they had us try because it was fricken delicious.  I’ll have to make a trip back.  They also offer a yoga + wine tasting class on certain dates.  I may have to hit that up.  ;)  The party was low key but a lot of fun.  I made some new friends (one who is moving to Argentina and is totally down with me couch surfing her place).

All in all, I think the bride had a fabulous time!

Even though we didn’t do a whole lot other than sitting and eating and tasting wine, I felt totally beat Sat night.  I was in bed before 11pm and didn’t roll out of bed until nearly 1pm.  No shame.  I needed that sleep.  I got a few chores done and also made friends with a little cutie that seems to have made its home in our back yard.

He/she is not the first one we’ve discovered, but sadly this is the first alive one we’ve seen.  I think one of the neighbor’s cats has been hunting them.  :(  I hope the little guy makes it, because it is too damn cute.

If you hadn’t noticed, no runs were done this weekend.  I’m kind of pissed about that, but am afraid the RWRunStreak is going to have to end for me.  I hate that I keep taking on these challenges then something happens to sideline me.  The other week during soccer an opponent stepped on my left foot.  I thought it was a bruise or something and it wasn’t terribly bothersome.  However, the soreness is pretty much not changing and I’m now concerned more damage than just a bruise has been done.  I’m going to schedule a visit with my doc to see if I can get it x-rayed and make sure I don’t have a fracture.  Til then, no running for this girl.  Shit happens, right?
