The best vacations always go by way too quickly. My trip to San Diego this year was nothing short of phenomenal and I’m so glad I got to spend a lot of quality time with both of my brothers. In perfect weather to boot! I managed to do a lot of biking around the city which was fun and made me feel less bad about not really behaving myself when it came to eating and drinking. I cannot wait to go back again, and I have a feeling it’s not going to be too too long before that happens. Time for some highlight pics of my last few days there!
These were taken on my last day. Dave and I spent the late afternoon napping on Coronado Beach, then drove down to Imperial Beach to catch some glimpses of Mexico on the horizon. On the way back he asked me if I had seen Sunset Cliffs yet. We planned to hit Hodad’s in OB to bid a final farewell to Tom, so it was perfect timing. The views were absolutely breathtaking, though I was sort of a chicken going too close to the edge.
Before meeting Dave to hit the beach, I went to Balboa Park to grab lunch at the Tea Pavilion and wander around. I couldn’t resist spending time in the botanical house and geeking out over orchids. I also might have internally squeeed when I spied an entire area of lotus blooms. This is stupid, but that was the first time I ever saw lotus flowers in person even though I have them all over my upper left arm… Don’t judge me. :)
Most of my mornings started out this way. I loaded some stuff onto my Kindle Fire and went to Santos in North Park for an iced coffee and scone. It was the perfect start to the day, for sure.
Tom and I spent a day in Ocean Beach and made a point to hit up Pizza Port for lunch/dinner. We ordered their Flyin’ Hawaiian Hefeweizen and the Lahaina pizza. It was so delicious. I hadn’t really had good pizza in a long time and we killed the whole thing. No shame.
Besides from staying with my brother who is always a blast to be around, I got to see the cutest of cute California puppers. Dave’s roommate has the sweetest dog and I was stoked to spend time with her. Mosey is a definitely a crowd favorite.
I got in Saturday night and promptly attempted to sleep as soon as I got home. I had an early soccer game with my team and it was the last of our spring season. We ended up losing badly to a group of girls who looked barely old enough to be in college. But, we made up for it later having a blast tailgating the Union game! It was a sellout vs NYC and we smashed them 3-0! It was my first pro soccer game and I cannot wait to go to another. Definitely a good cap to my fantastic time off.
So now it’s back to the grind again. Co-ed soccer starts tomorrow and I’m looking forward to getting back into the gym routine for the rest of the summer. It looks like it’s going to be a really good one if the beginning of it is any indication!
